Palau President Tommy Remenegsau Jr. disclosed this during the national leadership meeting yesterday.

Senator Murkowski’s committee has the congressional jurisdiction over the Department of Interior, which oversee the U.S. Insular Areas including the freely associated states- Palau, Marshall islands and Federated States of Micronesia.

The delegation will be arriving on the morning of March 25 , proceed to Peleliu and a visit to the rock islands. A reception for the group will be held at the U.S Ambassador’s residence in Airai .

On the next day, the congressional members will be meeting with Palau’s leadership in the morning at Palau Pacific Resort.

It was not made clear at the leadership meeting what is the purpose of the visit.. However, their visit comes after Palau’s compact funding has received clear support from the U.S. President Donald Trump and U.S. Congress following it signing in September 2010.
