Vietnam tourists eye Palau as newest destination
Koror- A low-cost airline company based in Vietnam is going to open a direct flight from Ho Chi Minh to Palau starting September 20.

Palau will be the newest destination for the Vietjet Air, an airline company servicing various destinations such as Cambodia, Hong Kong, and Japan, among others.
It will offer two flights a week to Palau every Tuesday and Friday with its 185-seater Airbus 320 aircraft.
The flight will only take about four hours from Ho Chi Minh to Koror and price for a two-way economy ticket is currently pegged at $1,700.Vietnamese businessman Eric Nguyen, who helps bring the airline to Palau, expressed optimism that the newly-opened route will attract some of the millions of outbound Vietnamese tourists that visit different destinations every year.
The ASEAN Travel statistics revealed that there were a total of 8.6 million outbound tourists from Vietnam in 2018.Nguyen said that he will also work on making Vietjet open a route from Vietnam to Japan and then to Koror to be able to provide direct flight service to the Japanese tourists that want to visit Palau.
